It’s not every day we have the opportunity to capture an Isle of Skye engagement session. It’s also not every day that we have the chance to photograph family. This evening with Joel and Sofia was incredibly special for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I (Sancia) lived in Edinburgh, Scotland for four years and still consider it home. There isn’t another country in the world that I can visit and immediately feel so connected to. Secondly, Joel is my brother and Sofia is the most amazing woman I could have ever hoped for him. These two things combined, in addition to welcome gusts of wind and cloud cover, allowed us to create out of pure joy. We have photographed people in all kinds of environments, but the atmosphere on the Isle of Skye, the colours, and the ruggedness of it all resonated deeply with us. It was an evening we will not soon forget.
